2 held in separate theft cases in Vasco

VASCO: Vasco police on Monday arrested two persons in two separate theft cases reported in Bhuteabhat and Bogmalo areas in Vasco.

As per information from Vasco PI Nolasco Raposo, Kishan Nandu (19), a native of Ratnagiri-Maharashtra, was caught by Bhuteabhat locals, for committing theft in a house, after a hot chase. The accused person was later handed over to the police.

In another case, Vasco police staff led by police sub-inspector Suraj Kankonkar apprehended Ramchandra Bhail (29), a native of Krishnagar-Tamil Nadu, while he was spotted moving in a suspicious manner at Bogmalo in the wee hours of Monday.

Upon interrogation, Vasco police found that the accused was involved in four offences. He was found carrying one mobile phone and 1,350 pounds which he had stolen from two houses in Bogmalo area. Police placed the accused under arrest. He has been remanded to 4 days in police custody. Police sub-inspector Vikas Deykar is investigating the case.
