As the world observes World No Tobacco Day on May 31, the Entertainment Society of Goa in association with the Department of Public Health Dentistry, Goa Dental College and Hospital is organising the 3rd Goa Anti Tobacco Film Festival 2019 on May 31.
The festival will witness the screening of the award winning ad films from the competition which was held in two section- Goa and National level. The films will be screened at Auditorium 1, Maquinez Palace, ESG, Panaji.
Prior to this, the prize distribution ceremony will be held at 5.30 p.m. Chief Minister of Goa Pramod Sawant and dean, Goa Dental College and Hospital, Ida De Noronha De Ataide will be the chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
The aim of this festival is to select ad films to spread the message of harmful or ill effects of tobacco use and also to decrease the occurrence of oral cancer and lung disease in keeping with this year’s theme ‘Tobacco and Lung Health’. The ultimate objective is to render Goa smoke free.
The award winning films in all categories will be used for promotions of ad campaigns of anti tobacco in cinema theatres across Goa, TV channels, schools, colleges, and other government department programmes in Goa. The entry is first come first serve basis and is open to all.
