The artworks of 14 differently-abled artists who paint with mouth and foot will be displayed at an exhibition titled ‘Art beyond belief’ on February 24 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bambolim Beach Resort.
Chief guest for the exhibition will be award winning author and poet, Frederika Menezes. The artists will also paint live at the event. Besides this, the event will also include art workshop for the artists, a meditation and yoga programme for their mental and physical wellbeing, as well as a live demonstration of mouth and foot painting.
The event is hosted by the Mouth and Foot Painting Artists Association (MFPA) which is an international registered society of disabled artists and is owned and run by the artists themselves to meet their financial needs. This is one of a kind event which will feature 14 artists from different parts of India who paint with their mouth or foot.
“This event is vital to our artists and to the development of MFPA in India as it will create an opportunity for the general public to meet and interact with our differently-abled artists,” says head of development and marketing, IMFPA, Bobby Thomas.
The MFPA society has been actively involved in supporting over 800 artists from 74 countries and instilling in them a sense of self-respect and dignity that comes from earning an independent, honest and secure livelihood through the sale of their artworks.
In India, the association currently supports 20 member artists from across the country; The artists come from a diverse cultural background spread across the states of Maharashtra, Jammu & Kashmir, Gujarat, Uttaranchal, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
