Chief minister Pramod Sawant made a budget speech on Thursday based on a budget tabled by his predecessor Manohar Parrikar in January. Parrikar had presented two budgets without making speech due to his illness.
While presenting the same figures, CM projected growth rate of 10 per cent.
He said said the main thrust of the budget would be to create employment, sort out mining issue and stabilise the economy.
The total budgetary expenditure is a little more than 19,500 crore, which is 14.16 per cent more than last year’s expenditure of 17,000 plus last year.
He also said that the government would ask for an extra 5 years of compensation on the GST issue.
