Camp for coaches held by Forca Goa

PANAJI: Forca Goa Foundation organized a special three-day team building workshop for all its Grassroots coaches in South Goa recently. The workshop helped the coaches to review the season gone by and to prepare themselves for the new season ahead, by sharing their experiences and knowledge gained through the year.

Cansaulim edge past SJL in high scorer

Velim: CAC Cansaulim entered the finals of Velim Panchayat Cup Football Tournament defeating Sao Jose de Areal 8-7 via the tie breaker played at Velim grounds on Thursday. The teams ended 4-4 at the final whistle. Cansaulim’s in-form striker Aaron Fernandes scored a brilliant hat-trick for his team finding the mark in the 30th, 58th and 60th minute, while the other goal was scored by Domnick Soares in the 13th minute. Sao Jose de Areal went into the lead in the 1st minute by a goal scored by Aliston Cametim. The other goals for Sao Jose de Areal were scored by Darryl Costa in the 8th and 61st minute while the other goal was scored by Samuel Costa in the 53rd minute. CAC Cansaulim proved to be the better shooters in the tie-breaker scoring accurately through Aaron Fernandes, Jade Fernandes, Sedwich Furtado and Anthony Cardozo. Sao Jose de Areal could find the mark only through Bensel Viegas, Haston Dias and Fredrich Furtado. CAC Cansaulim will play Maina S C in the final on May 3rd.

Margao run over Arlem Youth to enter final

Mandopa: Margao SC entered the finals of Mandopa Cup Football Tournament defeating Arlem Youth Association 4-0 played at Mandopa grounds on Thursday. Nacil Pinto scored a brace of goals for Margao SC, finding the mark in the 26th and 65th minute, while the other two goals were scored by Cavin Araujo (1st minute) and Melwyn Furtado (60th minute). Margao SC will play Sporting Club of Davorlim in the finals scheduled to be played on May 3rd.

Parish Youth pip Goan Warriors

VAGATOR: Parish Youth Sports Club Nuvem managed to edge past Goan Warriors Sports Club Thivim 2-1 to advance in the Vagator Soccer 2018 (U.K. Cup), organized by Vagator PYSC, played at Vagator Ozran grounds on Thursday. Goan Warriors’ Milind Shinde broke the deadlock with a rasping strike from outside the penalty box, 1-0. However Nuvem colts leveled terms in the 65th minute, when Minguel Pereira sent a pass to Inacio Colaco who in turn set up Clyson who scored with a neat placement, 1-1. Three minutes later Myron Pereira sent a cross to well positioned Myron Borges who headed the ball home making it 2-1.
