Deepvihar Higher Secondary School, Sada observed Anti Narcotics Day with a rally on the awareness of ill effects of drugs in Vasco recently.
The rally was flagged off by the chief guest Agnelo Fernandes, chief officer of Mormugao Municipal Council and Sanjay Banaulikar, manager, Deepvihar Higher Secondary School.
The programme was organised by the NSS Unit programme co-ordinator Sunil Shet for classes XI and XII, both Science and Commerce streams.

The chief guest Fernandes, in his address to the students, asked them to say no to drugs and yes to life, which should be their motto. He also told the students that the nation needs them and they have a long way to go, hence, they should use their talents for good things.
He further stressed and asked the students to change the saying Goa is famous for beaches and drugs, but bring out the true beauty of Goa.
Sanjay Banaulikar, manager, appreciated the efforts of the NSS unit in holding the awareness rally all these years and the school’s contribution to society in spreading awareness.
Srikant Palsarkar, teacher Gr-I, welcomed the chief guest, while Jagannath Kundaikar, teacher Gr-I introduced Agnelo Femandes. Manisha Naik, teacher Grade-I presented a bouquet to the chief guest on behalf of the NSS unit. Nankumar Satardekar, teacher Gr-I presented a bouquet to the manager, Deepvihar Higher Secondary School.
The vote of thanks was proposed by PE teacher Sudesh Gaonkar. Present on the occasion were all the staff members of Deepvihar Higher Secondary School.
