As many as 2,000 volunteers from Nestle India fanned out across different states on cleanliness drives on June 8, celebrated as World Oceans Day. The volunteers included employees of the company and their families, suppliers, trade partners and NGOS. In Goa, volunteers gathered at Miramar Beach for a cleanup drive and pledged their commitment to a plastic free environment.

‘Celebrating World Oceans Day is an opportunity to remind everyone of the importance of oceans in our lives,” said Gaude. Expressing his pleasure at the initiative he added that, the drive helped to curb plastic pollution and to create awareness around plastic waste management.
During the campaign volunteers split themselves in different teams to ensure systematic collection of garbage. The collected waste was then sent to the processing facilities to be disposed off responsibly.
