Students from the department of ETC, Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, Ajay Shanbhag and Granville Goes have been selected under the Goa Scholar Scheme of Goa Government. The objective of the scheme is to promote pursuit of postgraduate studies by recognising meritorious and outstanding candidates with a scholarship to undertake post graduate (masters or doctoral) studies in institutions of proven excellence, in India or abroad.
Shanbhag, student of the 2016 batch from the department of electronics and telecommunication engineering, is currently pursuing a PhD at IIT Madras from the department of electrical engineering under the supervision of Amitava Dasgupta. His research topic is ‘Modelling and Parameter Extraction of GaN HEMT using Artificial Intelligence’. He will receive an amount of six lakhs from the Government of Goa under the Goa Scholar scheme.
Goes is a student of the 2012 batch of the department of electronics and telecommunication engineering, completed his master’s of science (MS) in embedded systems from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden in June 2019.
He will start working with the Swedish MNC, Ericsson, from July 2019. He will receive an amount of $20,000 from Government of Goa under the Goa Scholar scheme.
