Santosh quits Salgaocar FC; Mario Soares handed charge

PANAJI: Santosh Kashyap has relinquished charge as coach of Salgaocar Footbball Club and assistant coach Mario Soares  has been asked to take charge until the Federation Cup.  Salgaocar FC owner Shivanand Salgaocar met the boys during training on Tuesday and announced the interim appointment of Mario Soares.

Santosh Kashyap’s departure looked imminent during the last match against Sporting Clube de Go at Tilak Maidan, Vasco. As the match was in progress, Santosh turned back and stated, “Excuse me sir, can you please watch your language.” He literally sat in the dugout for the rest of the game.

According to sources in Salgaocar FC, Santosh left for Mumbai and arrived on Tuesday but he was requested not to attend the training. “Santosh is expected to hand in his resignation on Wednesday owning responsibility for the performance of the team,” added our Salgaocar FC source.

Efforts to contact Santosh  Kashyap proved futile.
