Education of students is given more priority unlike in the past as parents like to educate their children in good schools, said Bro Mathew Thekkemury.

St Francis School follows a comprehensive curriculum on the proposed Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi and is likely to be the first school in Mapusa to offer the ICSE pattern.
The new school building with excellent infrastructure to facilitate academic learning, sports and extra- curricular activities was unveiled at the hands of Bro Mathew Thekkemury, assistant superior general and was inaugurated by cutting the ribbon by Lancelot Fuller, deputy secretary, Council for Indian school Certificate Examinations. Addressing the gathering Bro Sayimon KJ CMSF provincial said that the Franciscan Missionary Brothers started this activity especially in Mapusa in the early 1928. In those days the brothers understood that education is very important and hence they started St Anthony’s orphanage and St Anthony’s High School to educate the underprivileged.
“To run an ICSE school in Mapusa is our dream for many years and today it has become a reality. Since there was no centre in Mapusa either ICSE or CBSE syllabus, we thought of making this available in Mapusa “said Bro Sayimon KJ.
