Panaji: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has said that uniforms and raincoats will be provided to students by July 25 as concerns have been raised over the delay in distribution of the school material to students although the schools have reopened last month and the monsoon has long arrived in Goa.
In a written reply, Sawant said, “Raincoats and uniforms shall be provided to students enrolled in Standard I and Standard III of government primary schools. For the year 2019-20, total 11,700 students shall be provided a set of raincoats and uniforms each. The procurement process is in progress and the material will be supplied by July 25, 2019.”
The government is procuring raincoats and uniforms from the Goa Khadi and Village Industries Board.
