Panaji: The Minister for Industries, Trade and Commerce Vishwajit Rane, on Tuesday, called on the Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal, and held a detailed discussion as regard the industrial scenario in Goa.
Speaking to this daily from New Delhi, Rane said that it is agreed during the meeting to work towards introducing Goa-specific policies.
“We discussed how we could progress on the industrial front. We shall be catching up again after the Parliament session,” he said.
Further, Rane informed that they held a general discussion on how to integrate national policy with the state industrial policy, and how to take Goa’s industrial sector forward.
“Union Minister also said that he is going to set up a task force to monitor the policies of the state governments and implementation of central schemes in the country,” he added.
Earlier, Rane tweeted “Called on Shri Piyush Goyal ji, Minister for Railways, Commerce and Industry and congratulated him on the new portfolios allotted to him. I thanked him for his precious time and looking forward to working under his guidance and have a vibrant industrial sector in the state of Goa.”
