Voices in praise

The Stuti Choral and Goa String Ensemble will perform three Lenten concerts, this week, titled ‘All Strings Attached: Volume 3’.

The first concert will be held on April 10, 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Immaculate Conception Church, Panaji; followed by concerts on April 11, 7 p.m. at Holy Spirit Church, Margao and on April 12, 7 p.m. at St Francis Xavier Church, Chicalim.

Directed by Parvesh Java and featuring concert master Eshvita Menezes, the highlight of the programmes will be Franz Schubert’s Massin G of 1815 and Franck’s Panis Angelicus, while specials in the repertoire include well-loved Lenten hymns in Konkani.

On Saturday, April 13, 7 p.m. the Stuti Choral Ensemble will perform traditional Portuguese songs from the region of Alentejo, arranged by Carlos Garcia and conducted by Maria Meireles. The concert will be held at Maquinez Palace, Panaji.
