First COVID case in Sodiem




Siolim-Sodiem panchayat, on Saturday, recorded its first COVID-19 case. A man working at Kundaim  industrial estate has tested positive; he was subsequently shifted to COVID care centre at  Calangute.

According to the available information, the man, who is a resident of Siolim Sodiem, had undergone  test on Monday, however, till Saturday morning his test report was not received. Following that the man approached the centre, and then the report that he being COVID positive was handed over to him. 

Then the man approached Siolim health centre,  and was then shifted to COVID care centre at Calangute.

Confirming about the case, Dr Sadhana Shetye said that “one more case has been detected in Sodiem; he is working at Kundaim. His parents and wife were tested today. His other contacts will be traced and throat swab samples will be collected.” “We have also collected swab samples of 86 people who are contacts of Anjuna patients and their test reports are awaited,”added Shetye.  

In regards to Mapusa, Thivim, and Siolim Marna no new cases were detected on Saturday as test reports of the collected swab samples are still awaited.
