South Goa Collector Ajit Roy, has appreciated Priol panchayat’s decision to set up a quarantine facility in the panchayat jurisdiction and has urged other panchayats in the state to take a leaf out of it.
The Collector made this statement when Priol sarpanch along with others submitted an action plan of the panchayat regarding the quarantine facility on Thursday.
Speaking further, Roy said that the panchayat works with the people on the ground, and such an initiative is the need of the hour so that “we restart our normal life.”
“Priol panchayat’s move to have its own quarantine facility will send the right message in the village as well as in the state about handling COVID situation at ground level and other panchayats should follow suit,” Roy said.
It should be noted that Veling – Priol – Kunkolim panchayat had on Sunday decided to set up a well-equipped emergency quarantine facility at Mardol at their panchayat hall.
