One more doctor attached to the district hospital at Mapusa tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday while eight positive cases were detected under the Siolim primary health centre’s jurisdiction.
Confirming about the doctor testing positive, Dr Mohandas Pednekar, medical superintendent of North Goa district hospital said, “One of our doctors has tested positive.”
Dr Pednekar further clarified that “the doctor from Parra who had tested positive on Thursday had not gone to Vasco but had visited Margao two weeks back. After returning back she had a swab test done and was tested negative. Later again when she was tested, the report confirmed her as COVID positive.”
Meanwhile, out of eight cases reported in Siolim primary health centre’s jurisdiction, four cases were at Sodiem in Siolim, three cases at Siolim-Marna with all patients contacts of earlier patients.
One new case was detected in Verla-Canca who is a doctor working at district hospital. In case of doctor, swab samples of family members were taken and tested negative.
