Houses of COVID patients in isolated areas of Mormugao to be marked

Office of the deputy collector and sub-divisional magistrate, Mormugao has decided to paste stickers on the houses of COVID-19 patients in isolated areas in the jurisdiction of Mormugao municipal council as a precautionary
measure.

The decision was taken at the meeting convened by the deputy collector and sub-divisional magistrate Mormugao Sachin Dessai on Friday with Mormugao municipal councillors at the mini auditorium of Ravindra Bhavan at Baina-Vasco in the presence of Vasco police personnel and health department
officials.

Deputy collector and sub-divisional magistrate Mormugao Dessai said that the exercise of pasting stickers will be adopted only in case of houses located in isolated areas not in containment or micro-containment zones.

He also maintained that the family members of the patient will be kept under isolation in the house for specific period as per
the SOP.

He claimed that the shortfalls at COVID care centre at MPT Hospital, Headland-Sada have been resolved by the authorities.

“Issues like unhygienic condition, shortage of water, providing food wrapped with plastics besides the issue with regard to laundry have been sorted out immediately by issuing necessary directions to the in-charge of the COVID care centre,” informed Dessai.

Meanwhile, MMC chairperson Nandadeep Raut has called upon the state government to resolve the problems encountered by people in containment zone at the earliest.
