The COVID-19 death count mounted to 70 in the state on Friday, as four more patients succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours.
As per information provided by the directorate of health services (DHS), the four new COVID fatalities include a 78-year-old man from Vasco, who passed away on Thursday while undergoing treatment at the Margao-based COVID hospital.
The second case is of a 62-year-old man from Mapusa, who was brought dead to the North Goa District Hospital on Friday.
The remaining two fatalities are of an 80-year-old man from Headland Sada in Vasco and a 30-year-old man from Cudnem-Bicholim. Both were admitted to the Goa Medical College and Hospital at Bambolim. They breathed their last in the GMC on Thursday.
The DHS said apart from the 62-year-old man from Mapusa, the rest three patients had pre-existing co-morbidities.
