Integrates several citizen, police services
Panaji: The newly launched Goa Police Mobile App is a digital platform that integrates several citizen and police services under one window so as to make policing more transparent, efficient, and people-centric.
The app was launched on Saturday by Union Home Minister Amit Shah during his Goa visit. Shah also launched Cloud-based 1930 Cyber Helpline centre.
The app offers a wide range of features for citizens and police personnel including online tenant verification with Aadhaar, PAN, and driving licence authentication; regular police updates, traffic alerts, cyber safety alerts, and notifications for public awareness.
It has ‘Go Live’ feature for real-time audio-visual communication between senior officers and the public or police units in the field.
The application also hosts internal communication tools for faster departmental coordination, and upcoming features such as online employee and labour verification, women’s SOS assistance.
Apart from the existing physical tenant verification process through local police stations, citizens can now perform hassle-free online tenant verification through this app, under the Goa Tenant Verification Act.
This digital option provides a convenient and time-efficient alternative for property owners.
The police have upgraded their 1930 Cyber Crime Helpline to a Cloud-based call centre, marking a significant leap forward in cybercrime response management.
Previously, the 1930 helpline operated on static telephone lines with limited capacity. This Cloud-based upgrade, conceptualised and developed under the AI-ML Lab of the police, now provides a state-of-the-art, scalable, and intelligent platform, ensuring prompt and efficient assistance to cyber fraud victims.
The two flagship digital initiatives are in line with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to build a Digital India and promote SMART policing (Strict and Sensitive, Modern and Mobile, Alert and Accountable, Reliable and Responsive, Tech-savvy and Trained).
