Kustodio Silva, 58, a resident of St Jose de Areal, who had met with a self
accident, succumbed to his injuries in Goa Medical College (GMC) and Hospital, Bambolim. According to Maina Curtorim police, they received a wireless message from casualty police from GMC hospital that a patient Silva breathed his last while undergoing treatment. Police said that he was involved in self-motor vehicular accident. Further investigation is in progress.
Meanwhile, a 61-year-old woman Parvati Paiginkar, who was living alone in a rented room at Davorlim and undergoing medical treatment, breathed her last. According to Maina Curtorim police, they received a phone call from Davorlim outpost staff informing that a woman was lying dead in her room.
Police said that based on information, the police team visited the spot at Rumdamol, Davorlim and conducted panchanama. Police said that during inquiry it came to be known that Parvati was sick and living alone in a rented room.
According to police, it appeared that the deceased accidently slipped in the bathroom and fell down, with backside of her hitting the staircase causing bleeding injuries.
The body was referred for post-mortem examination wherein doctor certified the cause of death as ‘head injury with atherosclerotic coronary artery disease.’ No foul play is suspected.
The body was handed over to relatives of the deceased for final rites. Further investigation is in progress.
