Anshuman Agrawal in finals



Anshuman Agrawal brightened his chances of claiming a double crown as he entered the finals of the sub junior boys and junior boys categories at the All Goa Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament organised by BPS Sports Club in Margao on Wednesday.

In the sub-junior boys quarter finals, Anshuman had an easy outing against Akshan Lawande beating him 3-0 (11-4, 11-5, 11-5). He went on to meet Nagesh verenkar who put up a tough fight in the semi-final but eventually went down 3-2 (11-7, 12-10, 8-11, 4-11, 11-3).

In the other semi-final of the sub junior boys category, Shantesh Mapsekar outplayed Aarav Aiyar 3-0 (11-9, 11-5, 11-8). He will now meet Anshuman in the final.

Anshuman also played in the junior boys category and in the quarter-final he blew away his opponent Aarav Aiyar 3-0 (11-9, 11-4, 11-8).

Playing the junior boys semi-finals against Jayz Gomes, he did experience some close games but won each one of them beating him 3-0 (11-8, 12-10, 11-9).

In the other junior boys semi-final, Nagesh Verenkar crushed his opponent Shantesh Mapsekar 3-0 (11-2, 11-6, 11-8). He now meets Anshuman in the final.
