15% bus fare hike proposed

PANAJI: The transport department has sent a proposal to the state government seeking 15 per cent or ` 2 hike in bus fares. The department has cited rise in input costs to seek the proposed hike, officials informed on Wednesday.

HC adjourns Raj Bhavan petition

1703 vehicles with tinted glasses booked in Ponda

PONDA: The Ponda traffic cell has collected ` 1,70,300 as fines by booking 1703 cases of tinted glass on cars and other four wheelers in the last six months. However police said that despite concerted efforts and strict policing, there is gross violation of the traffic rules and regulations in the areas of Ponda and its surrounding.
