Remaining 8 structures at Baina demolished, more 300 shanties to be razed soon

Following the High Court’s decision, the South Goa district administration on Monday razed down the remaining 8 structures of the 74 that were earmarked for demolition and removed all the debris. According to the South Goa collector, another 300 shanties in Vasco  would also be demolished soon.

Sancoale sarpanch remanded to three-day police custody

Sancoale sarpanch Ramakant Borkar was on Saturday produced before the CBI Court at Mapusa, a day after he was caught red handed by the anti-corruption branch  of the vigilance directorate  for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 75,000 from businessman for issuing an occupancy certificate for a residential bungalow.
