The consumer cell of DM’s PVS Kushe Higher Secondary School, Assagao conducted various programmes in view of the initiative taken by the Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs to create awareness on the occasion of State Consumer Rights Day.
The school conducted two team-based competitions, namely, Collage Competition and Slogan Competition on the topic ‘Assert Rights, Pursue Remedies’.
A total number of eight teams participated in the events. The top three teams in each competition were selected by a panel of judges and were presented prizes at the hands of Amita Salatry and principal, Zinia Esteves.
An awareness talk was delivered by member of Goa State Consumer Conciliation Committee and Goa State Consumer Protection Council, Amita Salatry who highlighted different issues of consumer rights and sensitised them about the redressal mechanism at the disposal of consumers in case of violation of consumer rights. She shared her experiences working as a member of the consumer cell in Goa. At the end of the sessions she asked students questions to check their knowledge on the topic and received feedback.
This was followed by a prize distribution ceremony.
