Fresh recognition for restaurant Martins Corner

Internationally acclaimed restaurant, Martins Corner, Betalbatim, was presented with a certificate of recognition by Harper Collins, India for featuring in the book Secret Sauce – Inspiring Stories of Great Indian Restaurants.

Secret Sauce is co- written by food writer Priya Bala and restaurant entrepreneur Jayanth Narayanan, and showcases 40 of India’s most iconic restaurant brands and delves into the secrets behind their success.  The certificate was presented by Jude Cardozo on behalf of Harper Collins to the owners of the restaurants.

The book is the first-ever in-depth look at 40 Indian most iconic and successful restaurants, not just as landmarks and must-visit destinations, but also as businesses that have stood the test of time and upheld their standards of dining and culinary excellence. From a hundred-year-old no-frills eatery in Bengaluru to an award-winning dine-out venue in Delhi, from inventive cafes to nationwide chains that have scaled admirably, this book is a sumptuous treat for aspiring food entrepreneurs, foodies, and anyone interested in the success secrets and inner workings of the restaurant business in India.

Priya Bala is a respected food writer and critic with several years of experience in studying restaurants. She is also a specialist cook and does pop-ups for Sri Lankan food.

Jayanth Narayanan is an entrepreneur and restaurateur, with degrees from BITS, Pilani and XLRI. He worked in the corporate world in the US and then returned to be an entrepreneur. He started the Mani’s Dum Biryani restaurant chain and the learnings from the experience became the restobizindia blog.
