Goa’s Santosh Trophy selection camp from Jan 21

PANAJI: The selection camp to select the Goa State football team for the Hero Santosh Trophy National football championship to be held at Solapur will be held from January 21 to February 2 at Bambolim Stadium. Players will undergo a medical check up on January 18 at Duler stadium from 10 am to 12 noon. They have been asked to report at Duler Stadium on January 18 from 10 am with two photos, original Adhar Card and Original Birth Certificate. The 30 probables selected for the camp are: Velito Cruz, Kirtikesh Gadekar, Suraj Hadkonkar, Jaison Vaz, Joaquim Abranches, Tyson Caiado, Clive Colaco, Jessel Carneiro and Olan Chandran (all Dempo SC); Kapil Hoble, Lalwan Puia, Brian Faria, Sarineo Fernandes, Meldon D’silva (all Goan FC); Glan Martins, Quan Gomes, Peter Carvalho, Joseph Clemente, Victorino Fernandes, Marcus Mascarenhas, Stendly Fernandes, Melroy Fernandes and Joston Cardozo (all Sporting Clube de Goa); Jason D’mello, Sanson Pereira, Samuel Costa, Devendra Murgaonkar, Ronaldo Oliveira and Chaitan Komarpant (all Salgaocar FC) and Schubert Pereira (Vasco SC).

 

Minerva Punjab record big win

NAVELIM: Minerva Panjab FC registered an easy 5-0 win against Kahaani FC (Gujarat) in AIFF’s India Youth League U-18 match played at Rosary grounds, Navelim on Thursday. Minerva Punjab’s M Thoiba Singh (4’, 75’) and Suraj Gurung (48’, 72’) scored a brace each while their other goal was netted by Kaman Chothe (46’). In the other match played in the morning session, Real Kashmir edged out Mangalore FC 1-0 with Bashir H scoring the match-winner in the 46th minute.

 

Curtorim Gymkhana ease into semis

FATORDA: Curtorim Gymkhana entered the semifinals of Bro Eulalio Vas Memorial football tournament defeating Rossmann Cruz SC, Nagoa-Verna 2-0 at Don Bosco Oratory grounds, Fatorda-Margao on Thursday. Curtorim Gymkhana’s Myson Fernandes and Josley Gomes scored a goal each in either half.

 

DSYA’s kabaddi selection on Jan 21

PANAJI: The Department of Sports and Youth Affairs (DSYA) will be conducting selection trials to select state kabaddi teams to participate in the All India Civil Services Tournament to be held at TT Nagar, Bhopal from February 1 to 5. Interested government employees have been asked to report Sadanand Sawal Desai at Peddem Sports Complex, Mapusa on January 21 at 3.30 pm.
