Goa suffered a 1-5 defeat against Jharkhand in the Sub Junior National Football Championship, organised by All India Football Federation, played at Arunachal Pradesh, on Friday. With the loss Goa are almost on their way out.
Goa conceded the first in the eigth minute but fought back strongly and equalised in the 13th minute through Aryan Salunke.
However, with the scores even, Goa lost both their stopper backs –Bindeshwar Chaudhary and Sahil Inamdar to early injuries and Coach Ajay Acharya had to substitute both the defenders. Goa conceded two more goals as they trailed 3-1 at the break.
Crossing over, it was all over for Goa as Jharkhand smashed in two more goals. Goa’s keeper Myrick Hilario was outstanding under the crossbar and saved further blushes for the Goan side with some fine saves during the game.
