NEW DELHI: Stating that the Bharatiya Janata Party accepts people’s mandate with humility, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday congratulated Congress, Telangana Rashtra Samiti and Mizo National Front for their victory in the assembly polls.
“Victory and defeat are an integral part of life,” tweeted the Prime Minister over the election results in the five states.
“I thank the people of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan for giving us the opportunity to serve these states. The BJP governments in these states worked tirelessly for the welfare of the people,” Modi wrote.
He also congratulated the Congress and TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao for their convincing and “thumping win” and also the Mizo National Front (MNF) for its win in Mizoram. While TRS has all along maintained anti-BJP, anti-Congress stance, MNF led by former chief minister Zoramthanga is a constituent of the BJP-led NEDA in the Northeast.
“Congratulations to the Congress for their victories. Congratulations to KCR Garu for the thumping win in Telangana and to the Mizo National Front (MNF) for their impressive victory in Mizoram,” the Prime Minister tweeted.
“The family of BJP karyakartas worked day and night for the state elections. I salute them for their hard work. Victory and defeat are an integral part of life. Today’s results will further our resolve to serve people and work even harder for the development of India,” he said in reference to the party’s workers and their struggle to fight strong anti-incumbency in three BJP-ruled states chiefly.
