A solo painting exhibition titled ‘Feelings’ by artist Ramesh Chandeppanavar was inaugurated by president of All Goa Kannada Maha Sangha, Panaji, Hanumantappa Shirur on June 23 at Bambolkar Art Gallery, Ponda. The exhibition was sponsored by Kannada and Culture Department, Government of Karnataka, Bengaluru. It was open to public viewing till June 25.
Artist and director of Bambolkar Art Gallery, Ponda, Shridhar Kamat Bambolkar was the chief guest for the function.
At the inaugural ceremony, Shirur spoke of Ramesh’s paintings as depicting the emotions between the two states Karnataka and Goa, and appreciated the artist’s imagination and presentation skills.
Bambolkar said that his gallery in Ponda intended to serve the artists and art lovers of the cultural town, but today it hosts a number of exhibitions from artists across Goa and beyond. “Dinanath Dalal Memorial Art Education Centre, Ponda is an art institution where we train youngsters and art lovers to draw and paint. The classes held here bring out their creativity,” said Bambolkar.
Ramesh has used a combination of water colours and acrylics in the artworks that express his feelings and has connected them to nature. He attempts to put his desires into his paintings which take shape in the abstract form.
