Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur and Directorate of Art and Culture will host a four-day ‘Yuva Natyotsav’ starting from June 26 till June 29 at Ravindra Bhavan, Vasco.
Speaking during a press conference on Wednesday, Minister for Art and Culture, Govind Gaude said that this event will provide Goans and opportunity to engage and enjoy Hindi theatre.
‘An enemy of the people’, ‘Dakghar’, ‘Kirtaan’ and ‘Mira’ will be some of the plays which will be showcased during the festival. The event will be inaugurated at the hands of Minister for Urban Development, Milind Naik and Minister for Art and Culture, Govind Gaude at 6:30 p.m.
The play ‘An enemy of the people’ directed by Yogendra Singh Parmar and written by Henrik Ibsen will be staged on June 26 at 7 p.m. ‘Dakghar’ directed by Sanket Jain and written by Rabindranath Tagore will be staged on June 27 at 7 p.m. ‘Kirtaan’ directed by written by Amikar Kamal will be held on June 28 at 7 p.m. ‘Mira’ which is both in Hindi and Urdu and is directed by Sahil Ahuja and written by Gurucharan Das will be held on June 29 at 7 p.m.
Gaude also took the opportunity to announce that two students from Goa have been selected to pursue training in Hindustani classical vocal music in Gurukul tradition by following Guru Shishya Paramapara at the Dr Gangubai Hangal Gurukul Trust at Unkal, Hubli-Dharwad.
He further said that they will receive training under renowned gurus for the academic year 2019 onwards. Presently Kala Academy has limited facilities to cater to students from all over India. “There are several students from various parts of the country who are good at music; we wish to give them an opportunity as well. Once Kala Academy is fully equipped and ready we will allow them to train here,” added Gaude.
