The online admission process for undergraduate (UG) courses will commence from April 11 onwards, the Directorate of Higher Education (DHE) said. Around 10,000 seats will be filled across the different programmes in various colleges.
“The admissions will be conducted on the SAMARTH e-Gov platform and online applications will be accepted from 11 am on April 11 onwards,” said Dr Mahadev Gawas, Project Director, Goa State Samarth e-Gov Project Unit. “In all, 40 colleges in the state will participate in the admission process,” he said.
Admissions will be available for UG programmes such as B.A., B.Com., B.Sc., music, theatre, home science, B.Voc., B.C.A., B.B.A., B.P.Ed., B.A.L.L.B., B.Sc. in Agriculture, ANW, and GNM, B.Sc. in Sports Science, B.Sc. in Data Science.
The deadline for the first round of admissions is April 30, midnight. The students who have passed, are appearing for, or are awaiting their standard XII results can apply on the portal.
“Goa University will conduct the entrance exam GU-CLAT for B.A. L.L.B. programme. Colleges offering B.B.A. and B.C.A. programmes shall conduct the offline entrance exam for applicants aspiring to be admitted. Each candidate must register only once on the SAMARTH e-Gov portal,” Gawas said.
“The candidates can apply to a maximum of five colleges/programmes of their choice. They may also apply to multiple programmes within the same college. The online application process is free of cost,” he said, adding that the candidates applying under the reservation category of SC/ST/OBC/EWS and PH must provide a valid certificate.
“To complete the online application, students must ensure they have the documents like SSC marksheet, HSSC marksheet, and Aadhaar card or passport (all in PDF format) and passport-size colour photograph and signature (both in JPEG format), in the specified format,” he said.
