2 toddlers drownin Salaulim canal

In a tragic incident, two toddlers drowned after accidentally falling in the Salaulim water canal at Dhavadshet, Xeldem in Curchorem constituency on Saturday.

Police inquiries revealed that Rehan Sadik Shaikh, who was 15 months old, and 18-month-old Vahid Aspak Hashmi belonged to two families residing in rental rooms
at Dhavadshet.

Police said that on Saturday morning, the two children were
accompanying their mothers who were walking to the canal to wash
their clothes.

However, the children were not noticed by the family members.

When the parents realized that the both the children were missing, they frantically started searching for them.

At about 12.30pm, the bodies of both the children were found in the canal at Bethmoddi, around one and half kilometres from the site of
the incident.

After Curchorem police conducted the panchanama, the bodies were sent to South Goa District hospital for post mortem.

investigations.
