Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday said that approximately 4 lakh square metres of land under the revenue department in Tambdi Surla will be designated as Shivmahotsav Maidan, a venue dedicated to hosting various festivals and events.

Stating that Satpal in Dharbandora talukais one of the state’s most unexplored and scenic locations, with unique natural beauty, Sawant said that there is need to promote such locations for tourism beyond Goa’s traditional sun, sand, and beaches.
“Villages like Sacorda have a lot to offer, and the Sanvordem constituency has significant potential for spiritual and hinterland tourism,” he said.
The Chief Minister added that the government is planning to boost tourism in the region through the Forest and Tourism Departments.
As part of this initiative, he said that out of the 5 lakh square metres of government land near Tambdi Surla, around 4 lakh square metres will be designated as Shivmahotsav Maidan to host tourism-related events. “This will serve as a foundation for promoting tourism in the Sanvordem constituency,” he
