Celebrating women with poetry

Hasat Khelat Kavya organised its monthly poetry evening on the occasion of International Women’s Day recently.

This poetry gathering, along with a poets’ conference under the theme ‘Kartutvawan Strii (Empowered Woman)’ was organised at the Municipal Hall, Margao.

Goan poetess Anagha Kamat was chief guest for the event.

The event was presided over by Sheetal Salgaonkar. The poem ‘Amhi Ase’ (we are like this) composed by founder of Hasat Khelat Kavya, Purnima Desai was sung and presented. Other poets that presented included Pushpa Gaitonde, Madhuri Usgaonkar, Ashok Lotlikar, Omkar Teradalkar, and Vardhini Borkar.

Apart from this, Rasika Parab from Ponda, social worker Anuradha Moghe, Sneha Tulsakar from Margao, Snehal Suresh Gaonkar, advocate Ashlesha S. Gaonkar, and architect Vishakha S. Gaonkar from Canacona, Sumita Ganguly from Sanguem, and counselor Parimal Gauns Desai from Margao were felicitated for their achievements.
