Raia

Fr Agnelo YSC Paroda powered past St Anthony SC Assolda 4-1 at the Raia Panchayat ground on Tuesday to lift the 52nd Custodio Memorial Trophy, organised by Raia Sporting Club.

St Anthony SC showed early promise through Samuel Piexoto and Richard Fernandes, but those initial flashes proved to be their only real threat as Paroda seized control of the contest.

Melson Fernandes broke the deadlock in the 26th minute, beating goalkeeper Oswin Rodrigues with a composed finish, giving his side the elad before the break.

Shortly after the restart, Selton Fernandes doubled the advantage, setting the tone for a dominant second half. Substitute Ashwan Fernandes added a third, and Sowell Fernandes put the result beyond doubt with Paroda’s fourth.

Drayan Fernandes pulled one back for St Anthony SC.

The final was graced by the presence of Vijay Sardesai, Francisco Sardinha, Alex Reginald Lourence, Caitano Fernandes, Dominic Gauncar, Jacinta Dias, Roque Mascarenhas, Fr Saude Pereira, Fr Dylan D’Costa, Anthony Pango, Ernest Moniz, Jose Pereira, Anthony Rodrigues, Freddy Palmeira.

Paroda’s Sowell Fernandes was named the man of the final.
