34 inspectors shifted amidst outcry over recent crimes

Amid rise in the cases of crime across Goa, the state government, on Thursday, transferred 34 police inspectors in a major reshuffle in the police department.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, who also holds the home portfolio, had on Wednesday held a review meeting with senior police officials to assess the law and order situation.

An order issued by the office of the Director General of Police, on Thursday, announced the transfer and posting of 34 inspectors.

As per the order, Pravin Gawas has been transferred to Canacona Police Station, Harish Raut Desai to the Traffic Cell Colva, Vijay Rane Sardesai to Bicholim Police Station, Shitakant Nayak to Siolim Coastal Security, Mahesh Kerkar to the Traffic Cell Panaji, Sandeep Kesarkar to ACB/Vigilance, Shailesh Narvekar to SB Centre Vasco, Devendra Pingle to FRRO Panaji, Sachin Lokre to the Crime Branch, Ribandar, Nitin Halankar to Pernem Police Station, Mahesh Gadekar to the Crime Branch, Ribandar, Prajyot Fadte to ACB/Vigilance, Dattaram Raut to the Traffic Cell-Mopa Airport, Ninad Deulkar to Mopa Airport Police Station, Narayan Chimulkar to the ATS Police Station, Tulsidas Naik to TEC, Panaji, John Fernandes to Dabolim Airport Police Station, Arun Bakre to the Security Unit, Panaji, Sachin Narvekar to the Chapora Coastal Security Police Station, Gouresh Malik to Old Goa Police Station, Krishna Sinari to the Traffic Cell Pernem, Gourish Parab to the Traffic Cell, Ponda, Vishwajit Chodankar to the Special Branch Panaji, Sagun Sawant to the ANC Police Station, Sajith Pillai to the Panaji Coastal Security Police Station, Mira D’Silva to the Women Police Station, Satish Padwalkar to GRPD Coy, Reema Naik to the Pink Force, Navin Desai to Mapusa Police Station, Sujay Korgaonkar to SB Centre, Bicholim, Nikhil Palekar to Mapusa Police Station, Harish Gawas to the Escort Cell Mapusa, Prashal Naik Desai to Quepem Police Station and Arjun Sangodkar to the Crime Branch, Ribandar.
