Siolim MLA Delilah Lobo emphasized the need for better coordination to prevent unnecessary road digging after hot mixing, which she described as a waste of taxpayers’ money.

She mentioned plans to meet with the Chief Minister to ensure the heads of relevant departments collaborate to address the issue.

Lobo made these remarks after inaugurating the hot mixing of the road from Milton Marques Circle to Dossoxira Holy Cross Chapel, a Rs 6 crore project. This road serves as a crucial route, particularly for travellers from Assagao to Anjuna.

The MLA said that all hot-mixed roads come with a three-year defect liability period, but roads are often dug up by other departments before the period expires.

“It’s a waste of public money,” she said, expressing particular concern as a high taxpayer about the mismanagement. She urged the Chief Minister to ensure better coordination across Goa to prevent such issues.

She also mentioned that the 5.6 MLD water treatment plant is nearly complete and is expected to be inaugurated by the end of the month. Furthermore, work on an electricity

substation in Badem will begin soon.

She said, “Underground cabling is mostly complete in various areas of Siolim, including Verla-Canca,

except for Sodiem and Oxel, which will be addressed soon.”
