Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, asserted their dominance in the Goa University Inter-Collegiate Men’s Basketball Championship 2024-25, clinching the title with an emphatic 85-64 victory over St Xavier’s College, Mapusa in the final at the Manohar Parrikar Indoor Stadium, Navelim.

Led by Tanish Lotlicar, who was later named Best Player of the Tournament, Don Bosco College of Engineering showcased superior offensive play and defensive resilience to outclass their opponents. From the opening whistle, they controlled the tempo, forcing turnovers and capitalizing on fast breaks to take an early lead.

Despite a spirited fightback from St. Xavier’s, Don Bosco’s relentless pace proved too much to handle.

In the semifinals, Don Bosco College of Engineering overcame S.S. Dempo College of Commerce and Economics, Cujira, with a 47-31 win, while St. Xavier’s College secured their place in the final after defeating Goa College of Engineering, Farmagudi, 55-30.

The winning squad included: Vanosh Fernandes, Gabinaz Pires, Aaron Rodrigues, Anish Barreto, Luke Fernandes, Malcolm Antao, Varun Castello, Hrishikesh Naik, Cavan Serrao, Leonardo Vaz, Aaryan Raut, Tanish Lotlicar (Best Player).
