Panaji: Police registered an FIR against activist Rama Kankonkar for allegedly hurting religious sentiments after he posted a video on social media against a religious
leader. Several followers of Sadguru Brahmeshanandacharya Swami Maharaj, gathered at the Panaji police station late Wednesday evening demanding for his arrest. They also filed a complaint against Kankonkar for making objectionable statements.
Panaji police are on the lookout for Kankonkar.
As per the complaint, Kankonkar dragged the swami into an unnecessary controversy over the Dev Khapreshwar temple issue in Porvorim.
Kankonkar has used disrespectful language to tarnish the image of the Swamiji, whose great service towards Sanatan Dharma and society is appreciated all over the world, states the complaint.
