‘Paediatrics neuro rehabilitation centre at GMC will be upgraded’

Health Minister Vishwajit Rane, on Thursday, said that the paediatrics neurorehabilitation centre (PNRC) at the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC), Bambolim would be upgraded to ensure that children receive the best possible services in neurorehabilitation. 

Rane, along with health officials, conducted a surprise inspection of the PNRC at GMC to ensure that all necessary care and facilities are in place.

“I also visited the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in the paediatric department and interacted with the doctors to understand any existing challenges or shortfalls,” Rane said. 

He informed that he has have directed the Medical Superintendent of GMC to ensure that all essential facilities and quality care are maintained at the highest standards, prioritising the well-being of the newborns.

“Continuous monitoring and prompt resolution of issues will be ensured to deliver optimal healthcare services,” he said, adding, “We must ensure that the best services are provided to people of all age groups. We are in the process of upgrading the PNRC to ensure that children receive the best possible services in neurorehabilitation.”

He also said that a few key services have been identified that will be upgraded at the earliest.
