Showing their indomitable spirit for adventure, three youths from Parye in Sattari taluka successfully completed a 5,600 km bike trip from Goa to Nepal and back. Travel enthusiasts Bani Majik, Sandesh Parwar, and Omkar Rane embarked on the arduous journey, riding their bikes through North India’s scenic landscapes and historic cities.
The road trip took them to Prayagraj, Ayodhya, and Varanasi, where they had firsthand experience of spiritualism of the iconic destinations; they witnessed Ganga aarti in Varanasi and took a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj.
As they rode through the vast expanse, the three friends also savoured different cuisine, sampling local delicacies and drinks.
They also interacted with people from various walks of life, learning about their customs and traditions.
“We met different people during our journey, and it was memorable,” says Sandesh Parwar.
“This was the first time we crossed international borders on the bikes,”
he says.
The trio’s journey was not without its challenges. Safety was their major concern, and they took every precaution, using safety gear while riding on national highways. Despite the fatigue that came with covering over five thousands of kilometres, the three friends persevered.
Their journey culminated in Nepal, where they spent seven days. They visited Kathmandu’s temples and marvelled at the serene beauty of Pokhara.
The trio received the hospitality of the Nepali people.
The return journey was also not without its testing times. When they finally returned to Goa, they were no longer just three friends who had completed a journey, but adventurers who seem to be proclaiming to the world that no distance is too far if passion is accompanied by courage.
The arduous and off-roading bike journey is an inspiration to many, demonstrating the spirit
of adventure.
