A team from Carmel College of Arts, Science and Commerce for Women, Nuvem, won first place at the National Youth Convention held at St. Claret College, Bengaluru, in association with the Xavier Board of Higher Education in

India. Competing against 18 colleges, Alice D’Souza, Sameeya Memon, and Vaibhavi Prabhugaonkar from the Department of Economics made an innovative food product using unsold and marigold flowers to reduce floral waste. The project was guided by faculty from the Economics and PG Food Technology departments. Assistant professor Renuka Sagvekar from the Economics Department accompanied the team. Risa Caldeira represented Carmel College in the Talent Hunt, showcasing her singing talent.
