NT KURIOCITY
The Goa edition of the World Science and Robotics Organisation (WSRO) 2025 Regionals was held recently at Saraswat Vidyalaya, Mapusa. Organised by PRATHAM Club in collaboration with LegoGoa and Qurious Mind, the event showcased young talent in robotics, coding, engineering, and innovation. A total of 91 teams from 37 schools across
Goa participated.
Deputy speaker and MLA of Mapusa Joshua D’Souza, was the chief guest. MLA Subhash Shirodkar supported the event by arranging transport for students from Shiroda.
Students were trained through online and offline sessions held in various locations including Mapusa, Vasco, Panaji, Margao, Panchwadi, Sanquelim, and Curchorem. Mentors from Qurious Mind and NCC volunteers from Saraswat Vidyalaya helped with training, logistics, and judging.
Among the winners, Ashvath Navelkar, Shwet Karpe, Ayush Parab, and Shriram Lotlikar from Dr. K. B. Hedgewar Vidyamandir secured first place in the Young Scientist Energy – Senior Category. Ian D’Costa of St. Andrews’ ICSC School won the STEM Balloon Car Challenge, followed by teams from Chubby Cheeks Spring Valley, Shri Shantadurga, Smt Sunandabai Bandodkar, and
Saraswat Vidyalaya.
Rehan Khan (Airway Public School) topped the All STEM Open Category, followed by Ronav and Ariana Chodankar (Sharada Mandir), Piyush Naik Dessai and Vyom Dessai (Mahila & Nutan English), and two teams from School of Symbiosis. A special award was given to Pranali Velip and Barsharani Muduli (Shree Mahalasa Narayani).
Saraswat Vidyalaya led the Industry 4.0 Autonomous Robot Challenge with Vedang Kamat and Surabhi Manerikar securing the top two positions. PES New English placed third, followed by another Saraswat team in fourth and Smt Laxmibai Sanzgiri Memorial in fifth.
Mahila & Nutan English High School dominated the Junior Robo Race, securing first, second, fourth, and fifth places. Vedang Kamat of Saraswat Vidyalaya came third, while a special award went to Anay Yerlekar, also from Saraswat.

Category.
In the Lego Line Following challenge, Saraswat Vidyalaya continued its run with Vedang Kamat and Surabhi Manerikar taking first and second places. The Progress High School, Panaji, came third, followed by Saraswat/Dempo Pace and Dr. Laxmibai Sanzgiri Memorial Primary School.
Pradnya High School secured first and third places in the Junior Line Following (Non-Lego) Category, while Shree Mahalasa Narayani came second and fifth. Ashton Da Costa (Lourdes Convent, Saligao) finished fourth, and Saim Krishna Gaonkar (St. Joseph’s Institute) received a special award.
All top performers will now represent Goa at the WSRO 2025 India Nationals, scheduled for September 13 in Ahmedabad, with a chance to qualify for the international rounds in Dubai and Italy later this year.
