Tourism dept rolls out rates of water sports activities

To bring in uniformity in the rates of water sports activities in the State, the Tourism Department on Saturday fixed the rates for various water sports activities including dolphin rides, boat rides, banana rides, winch parasailing and scuba diving, among others.

The Department also notified the rates of three combo packages.

The dolphin rides have been divided into three categories – Rs 350, Rs 500 and Rs 800 per passenger in a group boat comprising a minimum of 10 per ride and for a maximum of 12 passengers per trip having duration of 30 minutes per trip, as per ride distances to dolphin point.

The rate for a boat ride has been fixed at Rs 1,000 per passenger per single boat ride having a duration of one hour per ride for a minimum of six passengers.

The bumpy rides (ringo) will be charged Rs 600 per single ride per two passengers covering a distance of 200 metres, while banana rides will be charged Rs 1,000 per single ride for five passengers covering distance of 200 metres.

The rates for winch parasailing have been fixed at Rs 1,200 per a single ride for one passenger having duration of ride of one and a half minutes aerial and double winch parasailing have been fixed at Rs 2,000 per a single ride for two passengers having duration of one and a half minute of aerial.

Jet-ski ride will be charged at Rs 500 per a single ride for one passenger and each ride is of a distance of 200 metres, while jetski ride with an instructor will be charged at Rs 2,500 per a single ride per passenger along with an instructor. Each ride is for duration of 10 minutes.
