A special cell along with a dedicated squad will be formed to resolve the long-pending issue of demarcation of plots allotted to the displaced farmers of the Salaulim dam within six months.
Sanguem MLA and Social Welfare Minister Subhash Phal Dessai made the announcement while addressing residents during a special function organised at Vaddem Colony No. 1 on Thursday.
“Though 400 sqm of land was allotted for house construction and 10,000 sqm for agriculture around 40 years ago,, the required formalities to legalise these plots were never completed. Now proper demarcation of the plots will be done, and mutation and partition procedures will be carried out to legalise them,” he said.
The minister said the proposed cell will include representatives from the deputy collector’s office, the revenue department, the survey department, and other government agencies.
Phal Desai further said that there was also no proper approach road leading to the plots.
“Now a required approach road will be constructed for easy access to these plots,” he said.
On the occasion, he also laid the foundation stone for six developmental projects worth Rs 1.75 crore.
Sarpanch of Vaddem-Curdi panchayat Chandan Unandkar, panch member Suhas Deikar, and others were present at the event.
