GGPR College excel in athletics

GVM’s Gopal Govind Poy Raiturcar (GGPR) College of Commerce and Economics, Ponda, emerged as the overall men’s team champions at the 38th Intercollegiate Athletic Meet, held at the Athletics Stadium. The event was organised by Goa University.

Yash Gaonkar won gold in the 400m and 800m, while Devanand Tate took silver in the 400m and bronze in the 800m. Nikhil Gaude claimed silver in the 1500m and bronze in the 5000m, and Siddhan Wadi earned bronze in the 200m.

In relay events, the men’s 4x100m team of Yash Gaonkar, Siddhan Wadi, Revanth Reddy, and Devanand Tate won gold. The men’s 4x400m relay team of Siddhan Wadi, Nikhil

Gaude, Yash Gaonkar, Devanand Tate, and Aditya Kumar set a new meet record of 3:32.38 en route to gold. The mixed 4x400m relay team of Yash Gaonkar, Nikhil Gaude, Sarita Gaude, and Akanksha Naik also won gold, while the women’s 4x100m team secured bronze. The team was guided by Director of Physical Education Betty D’Silva and coach Prashant Fadte.
