Rupesh Kossambe stars in their seven-wicket win over Govindraj Legends

Arlem: Mapusa Dream Crushers stamped their authority with a clinical all-round performance to beat Govindraj Legends by seven wickets and seal a spot in the finals of the Sarsangan Commonwealth Developers +45 Veterans Cricket Series 2025 at the Arlem Cricket Ground.

Put in to bat, Govindraj Legends posted a competitive 161 for 7 from their 20 overs, riding on a blistering 36 off 16 balls from Siddhesh Bodke. Mahendra Pai Kuchelkar (34), Rajendra Prabhudesai (29) and Balkrishna Hodarkar (18) provided valuable support, but the Dream Crushers kept things tight through disciplined bowling. Parai Dubhashi (2/16) and Samrudh Hegde Desai (2/25) led the charge, while Prasad Bhende (1/8), Vibhav Pai (1/17) and Mahesh Churi (1/31) chipped in to restrict the scoring.

In reply, the Dream Crushers paced their chase with composure and intent. Rajesh Colvalcar (24) and Anant Chodnekar (30) laid a solid foundation before Rupesh Kossambe and Siddesh Desai took control with matching knocks of 36. Vibhav Pai added the finishing touches with an unbeaten 16 as the Crushers cruised to 162 for 3 in 17.4 overs. Sudin Kamat, Balkrishna Hodarkar and Balkrishna Kamat picked up a wicket apiece for Govindraj Legends.

Rupesh Kossambe was named the Man of the Match, while Siddesh Desai (Best Batter), Parai Dubhashi (Best Bowler).

Later in the day, Pai & Khot Fighters wrapped up their campaign on a high, registering a convincing 52-run win over Salcete Stallions. Batting first, the Fighters posted a solid 170 for 7, with Sandeep Thali top-scoring with 35. Avinash Kossambe (29), Ashutosh Pai Angle (21) and Shiraj Pai Khot (20) ensured the innings maintained momentum. Siddesh Pai was the standout bowler for the Stallions with figures of 3 for 19, while Parinda Pai Kane claimed 2 for 25.

Chasing 171, the Stallions never found rhythm and were bowled out for 118, despite a lone resistance from Sarvesh Kamat.
