A superb century from Parth Chandan set up Tarvalem Cricket Club’s emphatic 136-run victory over Curchorem Cricket Club in the South Zone GCA Division B match at the MCC ground, Margao.
After winning the toss and choosing to bat, Tarvalem piled on a formidable 358 for seven in 42 overs. Chandan led the charge with a fluent 118, anchoring the innings, while Somesh Prabhudessai (89) and Amogh Bhatkal (62) provided strong support to keep the scoring rate high. Rohit Parpati added late impetus with an unbeaten 21. For Curchorem, Aniket Rivonkar (2-59) was the most successful bowler, with Kaushal Charii and Sweekar Parab picking up a wicket apiece.
Chasing a steep target, Curchorem were bowled out for 222 in 35.2 overs. Sweekar Parab top-scored with 61, while Rohit Khutkar (49) and Deepak Patil (23) offered some resistance. Tarvalem’s bowlers shared the wickets, with Amogh Bhatkal (2-24), Aalakh Devari (2-25) and Parth Chandan (2-53) ensuring the chase never threatened to gain momentum.
Chandan’s all-round contribution earned him the Player of the Match.
