Ponda

The government on Friday assured that long-pending grievances of Ponda residents will be resolved within 24 hours through the ‘Sarkar Tumchya Dari’ outreach programme.

“Not a single citizen will return empty-handed with our Sarkar Tumchya Dari initiative,” said Chief Minister Pramod Sawant at the ‘Sarkar Tumchya Dari’ held in Ponda taluka.

On the vacant neuro surgeon post at the Ponda sub-district hospital, he said the state had received no response despite advertising the post on multiple occasions.

“If any private neuro surgeon wishes to attend patients at the Ponda hospital, then the government will provide a CT scan machine,” he said.

He addressed various issues raised by citizens, including irregular Kadamba bus services to Nirankal and Betoda, the dilapidated condition of the community health centre at Nirankal, and hardship faced by students while crossing a nullah at Khandepar.

“In the absence of Ravi Naik, I take the full responsibility of citizens of Ponda,” he said.

Interestingly, Ponda leader Dr Ketan Bhatikar arrived at the venue and raised issues related to the shortage of doctors and medical facilities at the sub district hospital, and the sand mafia issue at Khandepar.

Sawant also handed over sanction letters to beneficiaries of the Majhe Ghar scheme and Atal Aasara Yojana, and also inaugurated a solar unit installed on the rooftop of the agriculture market yard premises at Curti through virtual mode.

“I will ensure that no one remains without basic amenities,” he said.

He later interacted with Swayampurna Mitras and government officials.

Present were Water Resources Minister Subhash Shirodkar, Power Minister Ramakrishna Dhavalikar, and MLA Govind Gaude, among others.
