Panaji: Dempo Challengers faced a tough outing against Baale Tigers going down by nine wickets, in the Panaji Gymkhana-organised PGML 5.0 Cricket Tournament at
the Panjim Gymkhana ground, Campal–Panaji, on Sunday.
Batting first, Dempo Challengers were restricted to 70 in 15.3 overs despite Sunny Kamat’s resilient 25 and Vedant Naik’s 14.
The team struggled against disciplined bowling from Baale Tigers, with Dhiraj Phadte, Prasad Patil, and Nilesh Bhosale taking three wickets each, while Sandeep Dahad picked up one.
In reply, Baale Tigers reached the modest target with ease, scoring 71 for one in 8.4 overs. Their innings was led by Dhiraj Phadte (38) and unbeaten Sandeep Dahad (30*), while Dempo’s Anish Kakode managed to claim only one wicket for his side.
